Rules and Guidelines for Indoor Camogie and Hurling
Rules

  • 5 a side panel of 10
  • Games 10 minutes in duration, no interval
  • Use Go Games Smart Touch Sliotar
  • Unlimited substitutions during a break in play
  • Ball cannot be kicked or stopped by foot. Penalty: Free puck
  • Ball cannot be handled ( only exception is the goalkeeper who can stop the ball with hand or foot in goal area and then play the ball away with the hurley)
  • Only goals count
  • Score not allowed directly from puck out
  • Ball may not be intentionally lifted off the ground and struck
  • Players must be at least 2 metres away from free taker
  • Boys participating include 4th class and under
  • Girls participating include 5th class and under
  • Please ensure that all teams participating in the competition arrive at the venue 15 minutes before games commence

N.B. Score difference no longer applies. Teams finishing on the same points play off against one another in a five minute game

Guidelines:

4 Team & 5 Team Group

  • Games 10 minutes straight through.

 

3 Team Group

  • Games Fourteen minutes
  • 7 mins a half, change ends

 

In the event of a tie:

 

The following guidelines will apply.

  • No scoring difference will apply.

 

A tie with two teams.

  • “Head-to-Head” will determine the winner
  • If both teams had drawn in the group game the following shall apply
  • A five-minute game will be played to determine the winner.
  •  If it is still a draw after five minutes, a Golden Goal will determine the winner.

 

Golden Goal means that play continues and the first team to score a goal is the winner

 

A Tie with Three Teams:

  • One team is drawn out of the hat, i.e., Team 1
  • Team 1 goes straight to the Final.
  • Remaining 2 teams play off in a 5-minute game.
  • If it is still a draw after five minutes, a Golden Goal will determine the winner
  • The above winner qualifies for the final v Team 1.
  • The final shall be a 5-minute game.
  • If it is still a draw after five minutes, a Golden Goal will determine the winner.

 

A Tie with Four Teams: 

  • Two teams are drawn out of the hat, i.e., Team 1 & Team 2.
  • Team 1 plays Team 2

Then,

  • Team 3 plays Team 4.
  • Five-minute games.
  • In the event of a draw Golden Goal will determine the winner.
  • Winner of Team 1 v Team 2 game qualifies for the final v the winner of Team 3 v Team 4 game
  • Final shall be a 5-minute game with Golden Goal in the event of a draw a Golden Goal will determine the winner.
